GUILDERLAND — The Bethlehem girls soccer team got the upper hand on defending Suburban Council South Division champion Guilderland in the race for first place.
Bethlehem goaltender Katie Nickles stopped 17 shots to help the Lady Eagles edge Guilderland 1-0 in Thursday's South Division showdown at Guilderland.
Tara Teal's first-half goal proved to be the game winner for Bethlehem (2-0-0). It was also one of only four shots the Lady Eagles took against Guilderland (1-1-0).
Lady Dutch goaltender Jenna Cubello made three saves.
