Last week, we looked for Section II's most exciting boys basketball player. This week, we're bringing things to the really local level by asking you who you believe is the top winter sports athlete in the towns of Bethlehem and Guilderland. Your choices are:
Cameron Dobbs (Guilderland) -- The undisputed leader of the Suburban Council's top boys basketball team. Dobbs led the Dutchmen to the South Division title by averaging 22.3 points per game.
John Gosstola (Bethlehem) -- The senior forward led the Eagles' hockey team with 21 goals and 33 points while paired on a line with Sam Vincent (16 goals, 16 assists).
Alex Lednev (Bethlehem) -- The senior capped a successful run through the Section II swimming season by winning the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke at last weekend's Division I meet. Lednev earned both the Most Outstanding Swimmer and Scholar-Athlete awards.
Bridget Murphy (Bethlehem) -- The senior guard helped the Lady Eagles finish third in the Suburban Council South Division girls basketball standings with a 15.5 points per game average.
Voting will remain open until midnight Monday, and the winner will advance to next week's poll where we will ask who is the top winter sports athlete in the region.
