Velte and Purcell
Marcy Lynn Velte and John Christopher Purcell were married on Aug. 31, 2014, at the Lakefront Ramada in Geneva, NY. Marcy is the daughter of James and Sharon Velte of Waterloo, NY. John is the son of Christopher and Lynn Purcell of Scotia, NY. The maid of honor was Nicole Thayer, with bridesmaids Jacqueline Jones, Ashley Harris, Siara Harris, Cat Tosiello and Sarah Worob. The best man was Thomas Alfree, with groomsman Robert “Spike” Paull, Dylan Hayden and Charlie Woznack. The usher was Shane Harris and the ceremony reader was Danielle Smith. The ceremony was officiated by Bruce Chambers. Marcy and John met while attending SUNY New Paltz, where they majored in journalism. Both are now reporters for Spotlight News in Albany County. Marcy is a 2006 graduate of Waterloo Senior High School, and John is a 2004 graduate of Scotia-Glenville Senior High School. The couple honeymooned in Washington, D.C., and live in Schenectady County.
Davies and Friedberg
Donald and Jo Ann Davies of Feura Bush, New York are happy to announce the engagement of their son Brian Richard, to Amber C. Friedberg, daughter of Peter Friedberg of Stockton, California and Debbie Friedberg of Modesto, California. The future groom graduated from Rider University of Trenton, New Jersey in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing & Public Relations. He is employed as an Interior Specialist for the #88 NASCAR Sprint Cup race team of Hendrick Motorsports of Concord, North Carolina. The future bride is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is currently employed by Lake Norman Infiniti of Cornelius, North Carolina. A June 2015 wedding is planned and the couple will reside in Concord, North Carolina.

She is a pharmacist at Rite Aid in Baltimore, Md. The future bridegroom is the son of Rhonda and Brian Shultz of North East, Md. He is a graduate of Towson University, Towson, Md., and also the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Baltimore, Md. He is a dentist in Elkton, Md. A January 2015 wedding is planned.
Courtney Genovese, daughter of Maureen Flynn, of Loudonville was married April 6, 2013, to Commander William L. Hendrickson, son of Sidney Hendrickson of Springfield ,Va., and Daniel Hendrickson of Coronado, Calif. The ceremony was performed at Kay Chapel in Newport, R.I. with the Rev. Michael Egan officiating. Katherine Genovese of Albany, N.Y. ,was maid of honor for her sister. Brian Hendrickson of Coronado, Calif., and Andrew Hendrickson of New York City were best men for their brother. The reception was held at the Viking Hotel in Newport, R.I. The bride received her bachelor’s degree from Colby College and her MBA from Northeastern University. She is a business development manager at Ocean Spray. The groom earned his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and his MBA from the University of San Diego. He is a Commander in the US. Navy. The couple reside in Washington, D.C.

The bride graduated from Bethlehem Central High School, Nazareth College, and New York Chiropractic College and is a Chiropractor practicing in Webster, New York. The groom graduated from Brighton High School and SUNY Cortland, and is owner of Twelve Corners Landscaping in Rochester, New York. The couple resides in Rochester, New York.

Deacon Alfred Manzella officiated. A beautiful reception at Franklin Plaza followed. Valerie is a graduate of Cohoes High School and SUNY Albany and works as a litigation paralegal supervisor in Albany. Christopher is a graduate of Bethlehem High School and The College of St. Rose and works for the New York State Attorney General’s Office in its Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. The couple will honeymoon in Mexico and return to their home in Albany.

The groom is the son of Edward and Kathleen Osta of Rotterdam. Dana received her degree in Business Administration from Hudson Valley, and is currently a kitchen and bath designer at Capitol District Supply in Albany. Bill is an associate at the DeLegge Funeral Home in Schenectady. The couple plans to reside in Rotterdam.

Sarah Elizabeth Bradshaw, daughter of Mike and Mary Beth Bradshaw of Rotterdam Junction, was married to Dillon Jeffrey King, son of Jeffrey and Louise King of Ballston Lake, on May 6, 2012. The bride and groom are graduates of Loudonville Christian School and both are juniors at Cedarville University in Cedarville, OH. The wedding took place at Sonrise Bible Church in Rotterdam, NY. The ceremony was officiated by the reverend Harmon R. Taylor, grandfather of the bride. The Maid of Honor was Bethany Bradshaw, sister of the bride, and the Best Men were Scott Roseberg and Zack Gatlin. The bridesmaids were Megan Day, Beth Fijal, Christa Johnson, Chelsea Stoltzfus and Chelsea Wagner. Groomsmen were Caleb Barton, Elijah Bovenzi, Stephen Morris, and David Vadney. Ring Bearers were Amin and Timothy Crowder. The music was provided by Caleb Barton and Bethany Condon. The readers were Sam Freda and Koury Deeb. The bride wore and a-line sheath gown with beaded lace overlay and a sweetheart neckline and chapel length train. Her veil was two-tiered fingertip length with rhinestone beaded edging. The bridesmaids wore street length teal blue dresses. The reception took place at Settles Hill Inn in Altamont. The happy couple will honeymoon in the Caribbean in December. They are residing in Cedarville, OH.
Hawver and Gimon
Philip and Rose Marie Hawver of Loudonville, are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Rose Hawver, to Richard Gimon, the son of Robert and Linda Gimon of Clifton, New Jersey. The future bride is a graduate of Shaker High School and Cornell University. Melanie received her Medical Degree from Upstate Medical University and completed her residency in Pathology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Currently, she is pursuing a Fellowship at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. The future groom is a graduate of Brown University.
